Bringing Technology to the Fight

CTI Open Technologies

We leverage a variety of open software, hardware, and data management platforms to support our customers. We liberally share our Intellectual Property (IP) with our government and industry partners. This allows others to leverage and contribute back to a larger collaborative development community.

In addition to sharing our IP, we actively train government and third-party developers on open software as part of our series of rapid prototype development events.

Our team is constantly evaluating new technologies to add to our list of supported platforms in order to ensure that cutting-edge capabilities are accessible to our sponsors and their user communities. If a technology is truly open and accessible, we are always excited to add it to our arsenal.

Sense & Receive

GNU Radio

GNU Radio is a free software development toolkit that provides signal processing blocks to implement software-defined radios and signal-processing systems. CTI utilizes GNU radio to interface with a variety of RF hardware platforms to create and configure software-defined radios for a multitude of applications.

Redhawk

REDHAWK is a software package that supports the design, development, deployment, management, and upgrading of real-time, network-enabled software-defined radios. CTI actively utilizes REDHAWK in conjunction with other defense data standards and communication protocols for network-enabled collaborative spectrum operations.

+ We also utilize our open platforms to integrate and communicate with numerous proprietary vendor-provided airborne, mobile, and man-packed sensors.

Transport & Process

Open DDS

OpenDDS is a publish/subscribe communication service that enables networked devices to easily share data utilizing IOT protocols. CTI leverages OpenDDS to actively configure, task, transport, and aggregate data from deployed arrays of multi-INT sensors.

Apache Spark

Apache Spark is an open-source distributed general-purpose cluster-computing framework. CTI utilizes Spark for a variety of data processing applications, leveraging several of the available extensions such as MLlib and SQL to enable process automation.
